As you may have noticed from my Photos of the Day, last week I took a little vacation from the East Midlands for the lovely North Norfolk coast
Our annual family holiday always involves some essential must dos:
- Have fish and chips (not forgetting the mushy peas) for lunch
- Take ages to decide which cake to choose from the many amazing independent bakeries
- Eat at least one ice cream (even if it’s raining!)
- Read lots (This holiday: Breakfast at Tiffanys, Atonement, Freakanomics and Girl With The Dragon Tattoo – all recommended)
- Stop into every antique, charity and second-hand bookshop we come across
- Take long walks along the beach with the dog
- Spend ages trying to spot seals/rabbits/butterflies/various birds/other wildlife – while distracting the dog from chasing them
Oh, and take plenty of photos…

Gorgeous pictures as ever! Is that coffee and walnut cake I spy? Amazing!
Thanks Kerry :)
I believe you may be right on the cake – it was my mum’s choice (but of course I had a sample, alongside my HUGE florentine!)
Sounds a perfect, relaxing week away…and LOVE the photos….
It really was relaxing – lots of time to get back into reading ago too!

Lovely photos!!! Especially that windmill!!! I always wanted to see a windmill in person~
The mill stopped making flour in the 1930s I believe – we climbed up the various floors inside and had a nice view out across the fields to the sea
Beautiful photos! x
Thanks Lucy! x
Gorgeous pictures! Sounds like a perfect vacation :)
Thankyou! A bit more sunshine would’ve been nice, but overall it was a lovely break
